Hi, I found this site while searching for information on the correct way to add a second bell box to my system.

The original control panel has died and i have replaced it with a Texecom R8 control panel. The bell boxes are AG6, i have been unable to find a wiring diagram and whilst searching i have also seen several refences suggesting that the second box is SCB but do not really understand how i would do this.

I would appreciate your guidance on this, Thank you

Hope this helps....

panel.         bell

+12v           hold off +

0v.              hold off -

bell.            TRIG

Strb.           STB

Tamp.         RTN

Both boxes can stay as they are, because AG6s sound off their own batteries, No SCB mode required.

do they, didnt know that. Most bells as SAB meaning they do draw from the panel. Id be checking the current in alarm to see if the panel can handle it

I did think similar, but I dont really know Texe stuff. And I can never understand why people want two bells in the first place. I dont have one on my house let alone two nothing more annoying than a sounder going off on a lovely summers day, and nobody takes any notice apart from complaining about the noise.

No man totally wrong ag6 doesn't have scb mode in anyway hence it will eventually kill the panel

I don't have any internal sounders either, never bothered because of the dog. Keypads only.

Round these parts , no internal sounder means they will take there time

Yeah, I just never fitted one because I didn't want to distress the dog if it fa'd, but tbf over the last 13 years he's probably only ever been left in the house a few times a year.

We've only been setting it regularly for a few years (maybe 3-4) as well.

Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
