honeywell alarm zone problem

Hello.

I have bought a new Honeywell ADE Gen4 alarm (Accenta/Optima) for my garage.

I have installed and wired the alarm as per the instructions. ( I have the compact panel with built in keypad not the LCD remote version.

I have only wired in 1 PIR into a 1 Zone.

However, when set the alarm with the code all 8 Zone lights come on and it just beeps forever and never sets.

I have done the alarm test and that passes.

When I do the walk test the manual says.

Enter Programing mode

Press(0)

Press (tick) Zones 1-8 are Off

(but in my case all Zones LEDs are on not off).

Zone 1 does stay off briefly until the PIR is triggered.

I’m pretty sure all Zone lights should be off.

However, having never fitted an alarm before I’m scratching my head.

I’m clearly doing something wrong.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

Just loop each zone , and the tamper is it looped or you wired through the zones?

When supplied, all 8 zones and the tamper connections should be linked out with a small silver wire. So the terminals of zone 1 would have a link, same for zone 2 etc.

Make sure that these are all in place. If you connected the PIR to zone 1 remove the wires & fit a link in their place, do the same with the tamper connections.

Now close the lid and try to set the system, if it sets now then you have a problem with the wiring.

If the panel won't set like this, you may have a faulty panel. Unusual for ADE.
