Installation code unknown scantronic9651

Recommended Posts

The engineer who installed and serviced my alarm tragically passed away suddenly. Unfortunately he never shared his installer code. The problem I have is that the alarm went off during a power outage on our street. In a panic I removed the cover to the box and now I can’t unset the tamper alarm.

I’ve tried the usual default code and variations of it but nothing works. My issue is that if I factory reset the box I have no idea how to reprogram the zones. The user manual he left doesn’t cover the steps.

I have a front door switch  and 3 sensors. So was hoping it would not take too long. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi: Your installer would have changed the engineer code when installing the panel, this is to stop unauthorised changes, your only option will be to get another engineer to default and re program the panel for you.

For security reasons we Never give out default details or codes. Out of interest: Had you replaced the panel lid before trying to re set the alarm ?.

I believe the box may have been open when the power was restored which triggered the internal alarm. I had to enter the user code to stop the alarm.

i have tried to reach out to other alarm fitters but they are reluctant to do the work. Perhaps they are unfamiliar with this box.

First thing to do is make sure that the control panel cover is securely re - fitted before entering the code, if the alarm went off when you had a power cut then 10-1 the battery in the panel is faulty and that's why the tamper won't re - set.

As SWB has said, possibly it is Engineer reset only but that's far from being a certainty. A lot of engineers don't set that option to engineer only.

You don't give the area of country you live, but if you look at our installer list then you may find someone in your area to look at your system. They'll be in a better position to give you advice when they have the panel in front of them.

I thought only an installer could reset a tamper?

If you want to DIY this, 9651 has a spring on the board , first thing is the cover closing it?

Second if you believe you have factory reset it's means you have the default engineer code? Manuals are widely available on internet of course

Oh change the battery probably rattling by now

What area or part of country are you in?

The 9651 doesn't need allot to set it up for DIY use if your competent enough

Others also who post in here will suggest that ... ... But of course you might just "mash" it up as I say

Hi: If you check out the UK security installer listings, there are 16 listed in London. One of them should be able to sort it for you.

I’m in West London not far from Heathrow . I haven’t been able to reset the box. It may be the battery needs changing. I’ve ordered one off amazon. Hopefully it will get delivered today.

I have pmd you
