Risco / Eurosec tamper reset

I changed a battery in the dining room PIR and the alarm now won’t set.

Displays says:

!!Enter Code!!
!!!Check!!!

I enter code and hit reset and the internal alarm starts sounding and display again says

!!Enter Code!!
!!!Check!!!

I enter code again and it says

Dining Rm RPI T!

I’ve searched online (I know nothing about alarms) and I’ve tried stretching the spring slightly but still the same. I’ve tried attempting to set whilst holding spring down and get the same error.

Please does anyone have any other suggestions?

Do you have any other codes?

You probably need an engineer reset , so you need to call someone anyway now

There was a discussion on a Facebook security group about tampers being engineer reset on grade 2 systems.

The standards say grade 2 tampers are user rest but some were saying they programme tampers for engineer reset as they do not like the end user to interfere with the control panel.

I would check that  tamper spring clicks when the cover is fitted and that the cover is seated correctly, then wait a couple of minutes then trigger the detector (so it sends a new signal to the panel) then type your code in.

Is it possible that the system has been set up for engineer reset on tamper.

If the above fails then you will have to make a call to the installing company / current maintainer
