kenwelham Posted December 13, 2016 Share Posted December 13, 2016 The "Full Reset" button on my Veritas 8 keypad has now stopped working. I enter my user code and press the button but nothing happens. The "Reset" button works fine and I get all the usual beeps and lights as I go through the arming process, but at the final step...Nothing! I replaced the battery in the control panel, but this didn't cure the problem. Can anybody help on this. This Texecom/Veritas system is about ten years old. norman Posted December 13, 2016 Share Posted December 13, 2016 Realistically I'd say it's time for a new panel, the keypad membranes do come off and can be cleaned if you are careful and use something like Ambersil or a medi wipe containing alcohol. sixwheeledbeast Posted December 13, 2016 Share Posted December 13, 2016 The keypad membrane on a Veritas is enclosed and not the type you would normally clean with isopropyl or the like. They are pretty robust the keypads so if you are competent I would take it apart and check it's faulty. I would check the system arms on Part and if diagnosed a faulty keypad then I am sure you can pick them up. Veritas K Keypad I believe they are called. I'm happy to attempt a strip down and cleaning of the keypad, but I don't know how to start the dismantling process so that the alarm doesn't go off. Do I enter the Engineer's code (RESET, code, PROG), which I have used in the past to get to the control panel for fuse replacement, or is there another way?
