Question what TV model is ? You could take the DVR to someone else where it might support the resolution then in the menu , change it to lower resolution and then bring it back to yours But you must have an old TV if it doesn't display most models are atleast 1080p now and the DVR should have auto switched aswell

sixwheeledbeast
Some sort of factory reset button or hardware switches on the back to change output? It's Floureon it's a pile of junk that none of the trade members here would use or know much about.
PeterJames
It will have display settings in the menu, but you need to plug it in to a tv with a higher resolution in order to get to the menu. I would do that before buying a new TV you may find you just have a dodgy HDMI lead or DVR
