JasonOfOz
Hi Everyone, It's that time of the year again and we need to renew our insurance policies. Traditionally we have used firms like SISS / Suttons / Camberford Law and all have been great. Of course we have never made a claim on any of our policies. Has anyone made a claim on their insurance and if so, how was that process? It's something I've never thought of before but it made me think that even if a premium costs £1k more than the next one, it may be worth the extra expense, if it means there's a higher chance of completing the claim - particularly if it's a big one. If you have any experiences to share, it would be great to get your thoughts. ps. also feel free to share any broker recommendations not already mentioned
PeterJames
We nearly had to make a claim when one of our engineers dented four corners of a brand new industrial unit with his ladder whilst fitting cameras. Makes my piss boil thinking about it
JasonOfOz
Heavy ladder..or heavy engineer! Out of interest, what did you do?
Rulland
Surely most of the force off a ladder against a wall is downwards, even with a 'heavyweight' engineer on them. Unless of course the ladder was at a silly angle.

norman
Insurance companies are like banks, all good when you are giving them your cash, but under the skin they are all parasitic bastards. 1 Quote Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool. I couldn't have put it better myself, I have had 5 people drive into the back of a car/van I was driving and 1 when i was not in the van in 10 years, I am now classed as a higher risk and am being bent over for it, I cannot help it if 4 women 1 male drunk driver and 1 male cannot not drive. Now after the last one I am fighting to get my loss of overtime as i have only been doing basic hours to give me chance for my neck to recover but seeing it's still playing up abit is going to take the full year the physio said it would,
paul44
Never go with the RAC for van insurance. Had someone crash into the back of me F.....G the van up. Spent 6HOURS on the phone through the day trying to process the accident, being passed from different company / department only to be told by the people who sort out the repair and replacement vehicle that they wont do anything until they have fully investigated the claim. Wasn't even my fault! The guy who crashed in to me was with LV, so took up their offer of sorting it all out. 30 min later all sorted.
