Eurosec Cp8L Lcd Battery Replacement

Hi everyone, hope all's good with you!

I wonder if anybody would be able to shed some light here.

I've got a Eurosec CP8L LCD house alarm, pre-installed (presumably by the builders) in the house I bought from somebody else 2 years ago.   I do know the Engineer code and the User code.

when we moved in, there was a "!!!! CHECK !!!! Low Batt." reading on the alarm, so fair enough, I bought a new battery, unscrewed the box in the garage, got the tamper alert, replaced the battery and all was well.

Fast forward to now, and there is another "!!! CHECK !!! Low Batt." reading.

Firstly, is that expected?   It's only been 2 years since I replaced it.

Secondly, I did the exact same procedure as above (well, so far as I remember) and the system still says "!!! CHECK !!! Low Batt." even though it has a new battery.   What did I do wrong?   Is it the Fuse?  Or do I need to do a reset/power off?

Thank you for any and all help :)

cheers, Chris

Depends - if you've had a few power cuts (or more likely, power turned off all day for building work etc...) then the battery will last nowhere near as long if completely discharged.

So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands

The battery (both the ones I've bought) are Yuasa.  Er, are they any good?

Yes.

  • 3 years later...

There are two small glass tube fuses in the top left hand quadrant of the circuit board, labelled F1 and F2.

F1 is 1A quick blow, F2 is 250 mA quick blow. Sizes are 20mm long and 5mm diameter. Prise out of spring holder and check with eye or preferably with meter. In my case F1 was blown and gave the !!!!Check!!!! Low batt indication.

The in-line Fuse in the positive battery lead can be unscrewed for visual check/meter check.

if you need to change the battery, can be sourced from
