Am I right in thinking that the AP requires a wired connection to the main router?, is this different to a repeater?, learning curve for moi, never really delved into it tbh.

 

 

Thats how ive done mine, so either hw, or powerline adaptors.

 

I'm no expert, but like messing about with stuff like this if i have a spare hour or so, like wise with reading up on things. It all helps........

Its hard to latch on to his humour,tho i can get my wifi across the road which is a good 25m away from where the router is its a new one with the 2 bands on what ever they do

Thanks 9651, I've heard that using a repeater halves the wireless speed, again, I don't know the truth or significance tbh, I would like to get better wireless coverage in my garden, I see conflicting reports about methods used.
