Tc/ip Door Access (Paxton)

It appears the splitter that comes with the poe unit has a 12vdc output to power both the acu and a locking device, rated @ 1.5A

I think :hmm:

Yes, but fed by the poe.

The switch will only handle circa 180 ish watts in total. Hence my concerns last night.

And just to their a spanned in the works. What about battery backup?

Your bog standard ups with one 7Ah inside in ain't gonna cut it.

To get this job completed correctly I fear someone has an unexpected bill heading their way.

Just been looking at a 24 port midspan unit, 36w per channel for a £1000 ish.

An unexpected bill and a service engineers nightmare.

Totally agree. Seems a bit of a **** up start to finished by people who don't know what they are doing installing this? Anyone clued up would have done these calculations way before this stage.

Well that's the great thing about this forum, you learn something new every day. But scratching my head as to the usefulness of this with maglocks etc...?

I like Paxton though; it might be (too) easy to fit and I can see the potential issue(s) there but I think its very well made and customers don't have

a bad word to say (touch wood)!

This does seem like the job undesigned in hell though!

So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands

Paxton love the easy jobs. Anything out of the ordinary and problems arise.

Case in point.

Marketing can only get you so far. and Paxton are marketing experts.
