Hi all, i have a veritas 8 compact installed proffesionally by the previous owner,we have had the house at least 5 years .it works fine, apart  from when the alarm is active, it sometimes goes off .i check the pirs thats activated to no avail, it will probably do the same thing a couple of weeks later but this time it will be different pir's can any one help please.ive checked the sensors for spiders etc

sometimes when we have been out when its  done it i usually presume its cats or somthing?

when its happened when we are a sleep i usually come down stairs expecting the worst i  check things out where its activated again no clues. i then usually re set it and go back to bed.

i can provide more info if required

kind regards

christian

5 years needs a new battery,

Plus a clean out of the defectors, bear in mind they may be on "Engineer" reset only.

That is your answer, unless you have a persistent fault on one detector.

But the battery is the first you need to replace.

PS you have cats, kill them or leave them out or in a non protected room,

did you mean detectors?

we dont have cats , what i meant was we have a pir in our concervetory if it happens to pick somthing up in the garden

This still doesn't rule out the battery is faulty. This would be the first thing to do.

It could be the panel, sensors, wiring and induced AC ... the list continues.

IMO a good company should find the problem.

PIR's cannot see through walls or glass.

Conservatories should have a better quality sensor due to the enviro.

If the sensor in the conservatory is detecting the garden, it's a DT and not setup correctly.
