BAUERJAN
Hello everybody, I have a NEXUS 8 alarm system. The standby battery is worn out and I want to replace it. If I enter the 'Engineer Code' on the remote control panel, will this disable the tamper functions? I presume that I will then be able to remove the alarm panel cover without activating the system? Is this correct? I also want to check the remote Bell Box. If I have entered the 'Engineer Code, will I be able to remove the Bellbox cover without the bell going-off? Many thanks, Jimmy
james.wilson
if you have the engineer code and the system is fully unset then yes most panels will then ignore tampers. However the external bell should still ring as the mode of the panel is irrespective to the bell. securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount. chexsec
If the outside sounder doesn't sound, it doesn't necessarily mean it's faulty. Some panels will allow the bell tamper to open in engineer mode. I don't know about the Nexus though.
