Hi,

I have just replaced my old 816 with a shiny new 595.

All is well, however when I unset the system by either code or Gtag i sometimes get the message 'ACE battery low'.

I do have an ACE keypad (upstairs), but i do not use any ACE fobs.

Your input as usual, would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Andy

lol, 816 is a better panel then the 595.

Make sure the ACE jumpers in the keypad don't have ace selected.

cheers alterego,

will check later. I never had this problem on the 816, and i havenot touched the ACE keypad.

I thought 816 was a better panel (higher number) - but it was a really really old one, i think it had the year 2000 on a chip on main board!

I thought the 595 stacked up ok, built in dialler etc..

What are the main differences, other than more zones, users etc..

Ta,

Andy

No, nothing wrong with the old panel.

Just very old, and wanted a dialler - the 595 seemed to be the best option.

Also the police man panic button on the rkp did not work on the old panel.

May be installing at my gran's!

should have just got a dialler and a progged the old keypad so buttons 1 & 3 are panic.

Glad to hear you fixed it.

The really old keypads (that you could fit with the hinged flap opening to the left, right or bottom) were actually the toughest as they had two contact discs on the back of each key - all the new ones only have one carbon contact on the back of each rubber key and in our experience do not therefore last as long - but I suppose that suits the manufacturer!
