Sensormatic Speeddome Connected To A Dm Ds2

Hi guys this is just a post to know if anyone knows how to connect a Sensormatic Dome to a Dm DS2 i have the 9 pin serial plug on the DS2 and have tried allmost everything but cant fathom it and im getting quite anoyed with it . I have spoken to my freind at ADT and he has given me the coorect way of connecting it and on the i/o board when i transmitt telemetry the sensornet led flashes however i still get no controll and im thinking could be the dome settings etc.

Any help would be much apreciated.

am not sure if DS2 has RS232 port but check that you connect the plug in RS422/485 COM port.

then check the speed, protocol and address settings (from both: DS2 AND the DOME). that done post them here and we'll see if there's something wrong in them.

dont quote me on this my minds a bit fuzzy this morning.

you should be using sensornet protocol on the dvr telemetry option.

four wire data line, terminals 1-4 at the dome end.

Dome must be addressed to the same as the dvr end, i.e. cam 6 on dvr, address dome as 6.

some sprites have a data bus block on the back, use that if you have it.

If you only have a D plug forget soldering to the pins. youll be back there every time someone even looks at the dvr.

Check your sprite box DM now have a D plug with block terminals on it, the last one i did had it in the box, easy.

if your telemetry still doesnt work swap data connections round at dvr, Ive done loads of these and still never remember connections .

Great domes once you get em working.

I take it you already have the dome picture and its doing its power up tour.

Remember to remove the black plastic bits from either side of the dome lens if its a heated external housing. Sensormatic recommend this to avoid overheating of the camera.

The only real fault you get with these domes is the i/o board. rare but ive had 3 in 7 years.

Ive loads of sensormatic bits, all new, if you ever need them, brackets, corner brackets etc.

Yes upon powerup of the dome it goes through its startup tour and i get a great picture. I have also tried the sensornet idea but still nothing. Im sure ill sort it eventually. You mentioned you had sensormatic bits, do you have any domes or externaall housings as i really could do with a couple of housings for my domes?

Not a gret deal of help but what protocol does the ds2 say it has? is it compatable. The only time i've used speeddomes is in 32 casinos but only with a touchtacker, which you go in SNET. Is the ds2 converting to SNET? Theres loads of connections on them things, plug in, twist lock base etc... i hate them.
