dpaengineer
Seems a little cheap to me. What sort of area is that covering, obviously if your travelling a decent way then it needs to be more. Or increase your base rate and the locals pay the higher rate. Trade Member
Alexg
Trying to run a buissness, but alarms isn't my only field. Most of my work is fairly local. What is the going rate?
jnealon
Too cheap, I'd be very suspicious of any trades person offering their services for that price www.realsecurity.ie

norman
well then he should charge that as extra ..He can only charge it as VAT if he pays VAT, but if you mean that he should charge extra for extras sake then I would be in agreeance. Guest
... if you mean that he should charge extra for extras sake then I would be in agreeance. and then when he starts to pay VAT he don't have to alter the prices upwards and VAT paying customers greet it as a discount.. Guest Yaka
Depends on your region too if you look at the difference between the loacals north and south, also have you seen how much the big nationals charge... if you suck in for a second two you can easily charge another

Vince8282
A good rule of thumb is : Think of what you feel is a fair price then, double it as we all tend to undervalue ourselves(except A_M). Also if any customer challengers the price(most will not) have your unique selling point to hammer home why they chose you to do the work in the first place. Practice in the morning, practice at night. Practice in the evening, until you get it right. Only make sure you are practising in the right way at the right time for it.
