  1. If anyone is available on 28-30 April and wants a free ticket to The Security Event taking place at the NEC in Birmingham, drop me a message. There is a new Installer Conference this year focusing on standards, regulations and best practice, and it's co-located with the Fire Safety Event so there is loads going on. Free parking and drinks party open to everyone at the end of day one. Really worth dropping into. So many products on display including some never seen before. Backed by all the leading industry bodies. It's the best event to go to this year by a mile. www.thesecurityevent.co.uk
  2. Hi Everyone, We have been working very hard in December and that has led to us being successful with a number of projects that all seem to require us installing throughout the February & March. They are all really nice Clients and because we want to do our best to meet their needs, we are looking for a few exceptional Engineers to help out. The specialty areas of expertise required (and the brands we will be working with) include: Access Control: Paxton, PAC, Grosvenor – Janus / Sateon, Inner Range, PACOM CCTV: Pelco, Samsung Intruder Alarm: Honeywell, Texecom, Scantronic Door Entry / Intercom: Videx, Siedle, BPT We are looking for help from skilled data-cablers (1st fix) to mounting equipment and terminating devices (2nd fix). If you can commission systems, that's even better but don't let it worry you if you don't know how. (we could even show you...) Ideally you have at least got a CSCS card, hand-tools, safety boots – we’ll provide the rest (of course if you have more then you go to the top of the Class!) Hopefully you are available, but if not and you know of someone great, then please do them a favour and let them know we are looking, I’m sure they’ll be very grateful
  3. Hi! I'll try and keep this short and sweet. I used to work for a security company installing intruder alarms for 2.5 years. I recently took a year out of the industry, I start my new job next week so I'm looking to brush up on the things I've forgotten. I'd like to know the specific details of the difference between a grade 2 and grade 3 alarm. As I understand it, grade 3 must have anti-masking and also a metal cpu/psu. Any further detail into the differences would be greatly appreciated! Also I've installed many grade 2 wireless intruder alarms in the past but I've always wondered, can you get wireless indruder alarms that are grade 3? Please give as much detail as possible! Thank you for all help given!
