Hi there all, my name is Red, for the purposes of this forum, not being clever, its my initials! I have been around the game for 32 years, makes me sound old... Started out as a YTS apprenticeship when it actually meant something, always was into electronics as a child, once used an automatic solenoid car window opener and made an electronic lock for my bedroom in 1984... C+G 236 pt 1.2.3, C+G 224 pt 1.2, C+G 185 pt 1.2.3. and many more. Came via Lander Alarms owned by the then RMC group, Modern alarms, Modern Security Systems, ADT, Secom, then pretty much 20 years on my own. High end is my game and has been so for many years, been blessed with clients and customers of an exceptionally high calibre, where money is never an object. Which has meant I have been able to design and implement some wild and wacky systems. Currently working the finance and money sector fortune 100 companies, commissioning, servicing and maintaining, Prowatch, Lenel, Casi, Avigilon to name but a few, and many more. Fully qualified in all aspects including but not limited to Prowatch cert, Lenel cert, Milestone cert, etc but can work on ANYTHING!!!!! I LOVE ELECTRONIC SURVEILLANCE AND SECURITY AND AUTOMATION. Peace.... RED

Hi All, I am trying to help a client with a perimeter protection system for a gated community. I have experience with IP video surveillance and done some courses on analogue systems but I am not very familiar with alarms, which is why I came here for some help. Attached is a rough sketch of the layout. I plan on using long range active IR beams, hopefully integrated with a few IP cameras that will be managed on a milestone VMS server. The IR beams that I have decided to use are Alean AN900-B200 Triple Photo Electric IR Beam Detectors with 200m outdoor range. What I need help with would be how to connect each detector unit with a central control panel and then what panels would integrate easily with VMS software that is run on an IP network? Should I run alarm wire 100s of meters to a central location? With IP cameras as soon as trenching and cabling becomes cost prohibitive I normally install UBNT Loco M2's to communicate with the control room. Would this be a viable option when using IR detectors? What extra equipment would be needed to convert the relay signal into an digital format where it can be received at base on the VMS software? I have not been able to find a solution on how to transmit the alarm relay to base wirelessly. A lot of googling has also not yielded an answer. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Any other tips and ideas that would help also appreciated. Thanks. Jester Res Rough Sketch.pdf
