  1. Good evening, I am writing to ask you info about the following problem. Today it has been the third time in less then 2 months that my Scantronic alarm started to make an internal sound - maybe a brief external one as well? - and give me the error "Sound Tamper Reset Required". I have performed the Engineer reset correctly all these times, but I was wondering if maybe this error means that I have to change my alarm battery. What do you think? Thanks for your help Steven
  2. Hi guys I follow this forumn from time to time but this is my first post. Had a question on my Agility 3 - I noticed on the version I have, I cannot change certain settings like: System: controls: Configuration Software Enable (Yes/No , Default is Yes) Also cannot change settings like: Default Enable (currently set to N) ARC enable Therefore, looks like I have been given the Sub-Engineer code thus limiting those changes? If I proceed with Dip3 change to default and power cycle, will it perform the reset although the “Default Enable” is currently set to No on the system? You advice will be appreciated. Many thanks Max
  3. My alarm installer is a cabbage and has left me with an alarm system that doesn't seem to be operating smoothly. He left me an engineers installation manual but the grandmaster code he wrote down doesn't work. [Link removed] details [...] to default the Grandmaster and Engineer codes back to the documented [codes] So I took the panel off the wall and carried out the following steps: [Defaulting details removed] [...] then reconnecting power makes the panel announce a tamper error and refuses to do anything on the keypad. Putting DIP switch 3 back in to the on position stops the errors but wont let me change PIN codes. So i'm stuck at the moment.... what's the missing steps to complete a reset and change of the engineer and grandmaster codes ?
  4. Hi all, I bit the bullet today and decided to try and repair/set up my mums alarm which has been powered down and nonworking for some time. I’ll try and state all the steps I’ve made- then it’ll help with any advice you all might offer. Please excuse my lack of knowledge and experience, I’m quite the newbie. Currently at my mums house whilst she’s away hoping to sort this for her as a surprise for when she’s home. (I believe her alarm is an sl8 ade/accenta sl compact but I’ll attach photos for confirmation) SO! after having power drop out to the keypad some time ago I checked the panel box and found the PCB was bent and cracked from being not being clipped into its slot properly back in installation back in 2000! When I pushed on the board power was temporarily and intermittently restored (wiring to the pcb was fine) so I deemed a new pcb might be worth a shot. I swapped over all the wiring and powered up. (See first two pics for the model) immediately both the internal keypad chime and exterior alarm sounded. When seeing the keypad , only the far light led (power) was lit up - all keys made a sound when pressed. (Pic of keypad attached) So, where do I go from here? My next step I assume would be to reset the panel box- enter engineer mode- set new code for alarm system and yay! Problem is I don’t know how to do this! I think from a google search the system is an sl8 compact, but it could be a g3, it’s a bit confusing! Any VERY basic step by step instruction would be much appreciated! The PCB is in the loft- so I’m sprinting downstairs to the hallway each time to check things! many thankyous.
