  6. Hello, I'm new to the site and CCTV. I have just purchased a Swann DVR4-4400 with two cameras plus i purchased 1 extra camera. Problem 1- I purchased a standalone outdoor microphone from Maplin UK wich connects via the camera power cord splitter and plugged audio phono into back of DVR. Sound was fine but after a short while it seems to die, it hum's a little then crackles and dies. If i try again later it will work again for a short while...What could be happening?Problem 2- It has 720P resolution but only offers 4 days continuous recording unless i lower resolution to 960H then i would get the 30 days i was promised by the salesman! (feel a bit miss led). Anyway, When i lower the resolution to 960H and it reboots it then suffers video loss and i can't seem to get it to work on 960H if i require 30+ recording, It will only work when i put it back to 720P, Any ideas what i may be doing wrong?, cheers.

  9. Hi there, The previous owners of our house had two dome cameras installed (one at the front and one at the rear) and just left the cables dangling in the loft. I've attached some pics but from what I can tell they are 2 x siamese cables, each having a single video + live + neutral. The live + neutral cables are crimped together so I'm left with the following: - 2 x video connectors - 1 x live wire - 1 x neutral wire I've no idea how to reconnect these other than to assume I need some sort of DVR box for the video connectors but have no idea what to do with the power cables. How do I power the dome cameras? What do I need to do? Thanks in advance.

  13. Hi All, We have a situation where we are using a Dell Inspiron 5759 Laptop as a Monitoring/ Client workstation using a DVTel Horizon 7.0 LNVR. One of three identical laptops has been commisioned on a system with 17 Cameras and is working perfectly - no problems to speak of as yet. The other two are now failing to pull up the CCTV footage in the Control Center application on a separate site with 26 Cameras. We know that the network is good as our personal computers are able to pull up the footage instantly using the same port and IP details. DVTel Tech support have told us that our graphics card is not up to the minimum system requirements to render the footage at speed. If anyone could provide me with some sort of insight as to how our system is fully functioning on one site and not on the second, then please do! Thanks in advance
