  1. Why would they break from tradition. And the other thing they're good at is giving JP better discount than trade.
  2. Not convinced you're reading the replies correctly. The LEDS are optional/not compulsory. But, if you have them on, they stay on, set or unset. Their purpose is a bit of a gimmick, feelgood factor, that type of thing. Helps show in the dark that the premises have/pretends to have an alarm.
  3. EWD (bellbox) leds are allowed to flash constantly. What you don't do is have them indicate set or unset. eg, only flashing when the panel is set. The leds are seperate to the strobe, which can/is programmed for different options.
  4. To be fair to VM, whilst they don't do static for domestics, the dynamic IP allocated doesn't change randomly, unlike BT. As long as you have a reliable router it is therefore most likely you keep the same IP. Not perfect i know but if BT won't upgrade the service then VM it is.
  5. VM don't offer statics either. The thing your forgetting though is shitty BT. They are cherry picking the post codes they install fibre to. So may areas are still stuck with 1MB broadband unless they go with VM
  6. BBC article gives a different slant on this,
  7. In base terms, there isn't one. There is of course the WTD regulations, unless waivered. Even then, H&S requirements would trump that.God help any company allowing/forcing people to put in long hours if they have a reportable injury.
  8. Thats good. The open day is a chance for the Uni's to sell themselves It's great when they do.
  9. Wait until you get to hear some of the presentations. Yee Gods, these are meant to be sales pitches to get the bright young things to enroll. You come out wondering just how boring the lectures must be. Get a good one and you almost feel like enroloing yourself.
  10. You southerners!think of northerners with dogs, and once upon a time wippets were quite popular breed along with feisty terriers. So... Getting a flat cap for my wippet.
  11. Tree cam does. He's now a DM fan iirc. Don't know about the other.
  12. ouch. and they say i'm cruel.
  13. Right, deffo to to do a swap from tablet to lappy,Or should I say, Surface.
  14. You mean like a bunch of flowers?
  15. I do believe I need to fire up the laptop.
  16. It has been known! Not often, I'll grant you that.
  17. Who is 'they'?And I've now decided. Come back Colin.
  18. I've bitten my tongue up to now but you are either extremely niaive or taking the piss. You might of course be both.
  19. You can indeed obtain an std code for anywhere you like. Most VoIP providers offer it.As for BT/openreach. They are a world player in the telecoms industry, a presence in many areas, but this shows how the pro independence lot like to pick and choose. If you want out, fine. But most down here, I would hazard a guess, would say out is out. You want out, then bye bye, no clutching at hand outs from Westminster. Just remember, Alec Salmond is not your friend.
