Did he meter the motor outputs on a command? Could be the capasitors a cheap repair. But the safeties would be the best bet. Any ground loops? They can degrade too. They could have been lazy and used a open/safety in one go. That goes tits up the gates stay open. Total stop button pressed somewhere? It happens. Gates ( I assume a pair) are locked in place or are the bypasses in place? Radio card fitted? Did he pull it off and let it run manual after a power recycle? Fun ehh.

Did you test the current draw? Have you a battery tester. Chances are the battery is over 4 yrs and has lost its holding capcity.

LPG conversion. Free CG (Well ATM, some changes are planned). You cannot escape the parking , but there are spots that give all day parking for £10.00 if you know where to look. But you may need to drop off tools and walk a little. Day rate, anything over 5 hours in my book, as oyu cannot start another job after that really.
