  1. possibly an old pressure mat hence the joints when system was upgraded ,cable seems in good condition considering the age not rough at all was normal in those days
  2. When used with an old racal panel,quite common back in the day
  3. old racal didnt they use to have a strange 2 wire thing pos alarm and neg tamper

The co seems to be doing things by the book tbf there replaced the panel etc they have offered maybe gsm or red sec on radio for no extra not sure why the phone bills would be excessive as there's no need for op/cl etc and if keyholder only no need for 24hr test maybe the signals are being aborted via the arc

  8. Depends on the device are they mr501 or mr901 501 bases can cause problems a 901 base won't
  9. if you've changed ion to hpo you will have to change programming in consys or you will get id faults, also any faulty device on the loop can cause low and high id faults on other devices, a faulty mcp causing id faults is common only way to prove is to discon one device at a time and link the loop thru and check the levels unless you have a shorting device which speeds up the process its a pain of a fault to trace
