  1. AP i am not going to get into a slanging match about this, we don't just issue software revisions to fix problems, some are to add features that people requuest, depending on the sites you have installed you may or may not have to flash the panel. On the + side if we have a probelm at least we admit it, and try and fix it. If you have service agreements in place you wil be going to site anyway, so if the new firmware fixes an issue or adds a feature you want, then just flash the panel as part of the service. Takes minutes to do.
  2. Agreed, manufacturers need to be involved, how the hell can they do their jobs if they don't talk to the people who use the kit?
  3. AP i am becoming bored of your constant moaning about our product, you don't even use it and you make it sound as if you have to flash the equipment every week. Fact is ALL manufacturers issue software which sometinemes has problems, depending on the site you may or may not have to flash upgrade the panel. At least we fix problems and add features that engineers and users actually want. I will conceed to James on the remote flash for SPC and HKC, nice feature and we will have it. So please stop treating us like the bad boy of the industry, at least i am heare playing the game, i don't see any Risco boys engaging in this forum
  4. We like trouble at BSIA, I and others like a bit of disruption, make for interesting meetings, and gets things done, the old ways have to change, and so do the people involved the EU is going to stop all this national requirements nonsense and I for one fully support it
  5. Nothing to do with ACPO, BS8243 was mainly written by installers & inspectorates, we have always had code and fob as an option as it is more secure. If you want to get involved join the BSIA and get your voice heard.

  9. TBH for us it is great, we deal all over the world now, and IFSEC is cheaper to meet all of our overseas customers than getting on aeroplanes, and most of them come over, I like it to put faces to names like I did with some of the guys on here a couple of years ago, so come on guys, last IFSEC in Brum get your buts down to our stand and grab a free beer.
  10. That's part of the reason i suspect, but mainly for EU visitors, i wonder what Brum will be like this year
