Phuddy48
Hi Guys, I've bot been on here for a while and could do with some help again if anybody can provide it. I've just installed a Texecom Premier Elite and NOTHING is working the way I need it to. I've wired everything EOL. There are only 5 Zones on the system. I've been banging my head against the wall with this over the weekend and come to the forum for assistance. So, Everything is EOL, the door contacts x 3 and The PIR's x 2. I powered the system up and checked all the connections and the EOL resistors are set to 2k2. when I program the system as eol it is showing system faults and bringing up the call engineer status on the RKP. I have also tried programming the system as Normally Closed but this stops the system working at all. I only do one of these every 6 months or so as the company I work for specialises in CCTV so I haven't had to deal with this for a while and have probably forgotten something blindingly obvious. I've set the system up so that the last Zone on the system is the global tamper for the PIR's etc. Any help would be gratefully received. Suspect if not you've only selected single EOL 2.2k... al-yeti
Yes you don't need global tamper if your using eol
datadiffusion
Does Texe have global tamper?? I know it has Aux tamper (I think) but that comes linked out from the factory IIRC? Phuddy48
I'm using the texecom PIR's with built in resistors, so, if I want those to show I need to program them as 4k2/2k2 at the keypad? correct?
al-yeti
Whatever resistors you use in the pirs need to be set in the panel via keypad yes
al-yeti
You obviously have to use the correct terminals in the Pir also , not sure what model you have , but example you may have 10 terminals , you will be using two for power and two specific terminals for using eol , at least that's on some
Phuddy48
I'm using the Texcom compact. 6 terminals on them. + - Al Al Tam Tam. set the resistors to 4k7 and 2k2 as in the manual and the door contacts are grade 2 with the wire cut for the resistance to 2k2. al-yeti
So you have one leg on an alarm contact and other leg on a tamper , can't be drawing it lol
al-yeti
Hangon oddly enough on texecom paper
Phuddy48
The jumpers on the board are set to 4k7 for the alarm and 2k2 for the tamper.
MrHappy
there this amazing invention called a multi meter..... you could measure the circuits to see it there wired correctly ? or with the panel comes a poly bag, remove all wiring from terminal, place 2k2 resistor across each zone, link out bell tamper & any aux tamper, with battery fitted & lid on you should be fault when leaving engineering if so put one zone back on at time & check circuit with meter or built in check until every zone is in place 6 minutes ago, Phuddy48 said: The jumpers on the board are set to 4k7 for the alarm and 2k2 for the tamper. do you have all 6 wire in the device ? You do understand your not supposed to use all six wires , only two for power and two for the zone
sixwheeledbeast
If that's how the sensors are wired they are not wired correctly for EOL We can't see the labels on the terminals or the DIP switches to see if there set right either. All zones need to be Double Pole/EOL. I assume your using an Elite 24? You need pair for power and one other pair across the Alarm and Tamper, look in the detector manual for guidance. Phuddy48
Thanks, I've changed the 2 PIR sensors across the alarm and tamper and it seems to be working better. I'm going to re do the door contacts tomorrow and then start the programming again. I'll update if I nee any more help. I hate intruder Alarm systems and this is one of the reasons why. :-o
