Finding Work

Recommended Posts

hi

only just signed up to the forum, found it while searching online.

i've recently set up my own company specialising in cctv (mainly ip systems), been in the industry for 3 years. most of my work so far has come through word of mouth. i was hoping others could provide some pointers on how i can find more work.

thanks

Hi and welcome

Accreditation is probably the best way to get work IMO.

thanks for your reply.

i'm actually looking at accreditation online as we speak, from my research so far it seems as though the best choice for me is either ssaib or nsi silver. out of the two what is preferred? also on average how long does it take to get accredited?

My company was formed in 1988 so its been a while, I am NSI Gold so would have a biased opinion, but there is not supposed to be any difference between Silver and Ssiab, Silver was invented because Gold was so much harder to get than Ssiab.

That said if your Silver you can go for gold at a later date, not sure if you can go anywhere from Ssiab

SSAIB with ISO9001 would be the next step I assume?

But you don't get a shiny for it?

That seems a bit daft you would think that they would give it some sort of premium name otherwise where is the motivation for doing it.

What is the best route for this? How long should it take from start to finish? Also how much can I expect it to cost too? Thanks

Being better at what you do, shouldn't need a badge...

Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
