I received a call at 1400 to attend a mobile phone mast site on a massive hill in the middle of nowhere. Its a mast and building with control equiptment in. Apparently the local area has been effected quite badly by a powerloss recently so the intruder alarm is now showing battery fail. Easy enough I thought so off I go with dnough batteries go power blackpool illuminations.

After an hour of asking as many people as I could find (2) where the mast was I see a broken loose stone path leadin up a steep hill.

Time to test the old Vivaro for pulling power. Foot to the floor and a few scary moments later I reach the summit. LOCKS bundles of them and not a key in site its now 4 oclock and my jolly up in the hills to swap a battery has now become a nightmare. I ring the security response team who tells me that I should have fore warn them that I was attending site and they could have arranged someone to mmet me there. All good and well but the fault report clearly states someone will be on site. I avoided the argument and apologised hoping he could get someone on site asap 2000 earliest he says. Great!! I had a call out at 1.30 this morning got back in bed at 5 and woke at 7 im slightly tired.

I crack the engine and turn the heaters on when disastor strikes I need the toilet and not aomething you can do standing up. For 3 and a half hours I ride the pain like a woman in labour when suddenly theres a knock on my window recovering from almost certain cardiac arrest i open my door to a man ressembling a hobbit. Im here to escort you, I explain that its access I need.

Anyway here I am with stomach cramps, a hobbit and another 1 hour wait for access to a site to carry out a 2 minute job ive another call 2 hours away to because a gas suppression system wont go in normal its stuck in auto preventing the alarm from setting. Then a 2 hr drive home.

Fantastic
