Ive been toying with this for a while now. The only thing i need windows server for is exchange.

Now sogo v2 is stable and i can use outlook on the desktops, my only issue now is mobile use.

Anyone using this in place of exchange and hows it going?

We use Linux for everything. Currently being used for spam and virus, firewall etc protecting our exchange.

I can do everything now, domain controller, mail, web, files etc from Linux. Only thing I havnt replaced as yet is exchange.

Wow, we're still running circa 50 windows servers. The only Linux we have is the webway servers.

From a cost point of view it would be nice to have an alternative, but the vast majority of what we are using requires micro$oft so unusually we are using me too products as far as it infrastructure is concerned.

Ive just installed Zorin on my new Server and so far so good. It runs a fair amount of Windows programs (It uses Wine plus its own stuff) I havent tried Exchange though as I dont use it. On the plus side it does run my VClient although there is some tweaking needed I may start investigating ito if it will rum Vserver then I may end up with a Linux based DVR
