Can anyone tell me the differeneces between the old DV IP machines and the new DV IP server?

I need to set up one of the older DV IP machines to our ARC but can only find lituarure on the latest DV IP Server

I think the software is very similar. Just remember hardwire to alarm inputs, then assign inputs to zones, then assign actions to zones.

Does the older unit use netvu or does it have its own sware?

Yeah, they are NetVu Connected, I went up to Daresbury and did a training course on them and the Analytics, 2 nights in a premier inn, oh what joy.

And make sure you turn on remote reporting in the system-features menu, if you dont you wont see the menu for the ARC in the network menu

Never used one, are the old ones any good, ie better then a ds2?

Very clever machines, you can make cameras from another dvip be on the same system.

eg. we have a system with a dvip at a gatehouse running anpr to open the gates and a ptz that automatically zooms in/out.
this then connects to a directional wifi link and connects into the network at the customers house almost 1km away with a 10mb link. the ptz just appears seamlessly as another camera on the dvip in the house with full control
