Superb chilli and tatey wedges - even includes a fork, they think of everything!

i have many favourit tools that i really enjoy using, the amazingly powerful and small Eneo mini sds drill, MAC alister Small impact driver, Fluke intellitone tracers, Fluke 520 LAN anaylisers, Psiber LAN Analyser are all contenders.

but over all winner for sheer versatility is my new iphone4, just has to be right up there,

the mutts knutts imho, i can view my clients dvr's on it, i have an app for a handy torche (using the camara spot light). a handy spirit level (i wear veri focals so real handy) and i use the camera as a magnifying glass for reading very small text on pcb components, CoPilot8 nav which is better than my £165.00 Garman NUVI, tube map/planner, Weather, Email, Word, Excel equivallents (DocsToGo), plays my music or internet radio stations through Van radio bluetooth link whixch stops pirat radio broadcasts from interferring and as example listen to Essex FM from Hull, and very good battery life, just an awsome device.

but i can't help feeling i should now wash my keyboard out with detol and sterilise my fingers with a naked falme, me being a one time very commited and dedicated Windows Mobile and MDA fan.

think you can get a stethoscope app for it that sends info to your gp. uses mic etc.

not sure your gp will want to hear you huffing (nor humping!), but maybe the way ahead as public service cuts bite...

i could waterproof it with a condom and dunk it in me Ovaltine, tell the doc the strifes got a bit of a cough!, could have a look :P

Printer! No! and thrice No! :).

I email all mine, ask for confirmed receive, ping it again if they don't. Then call for confirmed while asking is system ok .).

PDF of it/them I'n their my docs folder. Sync that to my iPhone, I then have a copy to email immediately while they are on the phone, if they say they did not get before. Stops all that 'lost I'n the post' nonsense.

App let's me look at my bank to see if BACS received, these day BACS tend to transfere very quickly often within minutes, again stops "it's I'n the post' or bounced cheques routines.

lol!

perhaps over the years i have managed to 'train' 'em  .

tbh all the companies i deal with have email, of those fewer private house's without email i think tend to be the older generation (should that be younger now :ninja: ).

all, so far have a family member who has email, and tbh that also helps allay any 'watch dog' type fears of 'mum/dads vulnerable and being screwed over' by a rogue if they don't know me. all the spec's, as is the finances are being overseen and scrutenised by a more alert younger son or daughter, they can quiery anything before i get my tools out, i find it just works well in so many ways.

Most all my clients either pay by BACS (which is great for bank reconcilliation) or cheque on the day, very few pay cash as i don't encourage it by doing 'discounts for cash', i instead for those who ask get a % off for prompt payment, so all above board.

i've found early days with cash deals, to often you only end up going back at your extra expense because "i did not get to the bank" , and being VAT registered, i know the inspectors are not stupid, so tbh just a pia for book keeping and also paying it in at the bank as i won't trust paying in cash ammounts through the ATM having been bitten once by them..

Still got avo 8 knocking around.

tbo, aint got any favorite, there's just too many different types of test gear we all carry (or occasionally bring from stores). i'd say me favorite there is the one i decided to bring on the day i didnt think i'd need it but yo!

built a scope in 70's on a week by week basis from a magazine. got the bug, so built another (hameg) in kit form. think they're carp now, but info i got from building etc..

Can't fault you mate, still have an Avo 8 myself & don't think i'd ever get shot of it. Scope project sounds like a good learning curve, gotta be honest though I bought my Hameg a couple of years ago. Bloody thing's too big to take out on site so I bought a little Digiscope that has come in handy a few times.

I have a working Sinclair DM2 DVM complete with original leather carry case, 30 years sgo I paid £100.00 towards it, firm paid the rest.

First DVM i ever owned, red led display meant you could see it from a long way in a dingy warehouxse while working on cc wiring,

just as well as same size as the 1st pansonic mobiles.

Did a lot of work with it, owes me nothing just i can't bare to part with it :)

Old hat now, but still a class bit of kit IMO.
