Cable Tracer/probe

Featured Replies

Does anyone have any recommendations.

I guess it's one of those things that gets forgotten about but in the past had a few situations where it would be a big help. (colleagues not labeling cables) :realmad:

We've got half a dozen cable tracers from Maplin.... as good as any other, resonable price and so far they bounce too........

I couldn't be sure on how long the signal would travel down mains but yes i can't see why not

I use mine occasionally and its useful but I have one site where as soon as it was switched on it picked up local radio!

OP is on about telecoms type tone tracer?

if you want to trace mains services underground you'd use a c scope maybe with the tone tracer cost

Sorry if I'm just being thick, but doesn't http://cpc.farnell.com/jsp/level5/module.j...=cpc/509573.xml include http://cpc.farnell.com/proskit-industries/...equestid=157365 for about 7 pounds less?

I realise it's unbranded, but it's quite obviously the same unit.

I aint got one like that but guess the tone generator is built in the dmm. Might be ok if you dont need your meter calibrated.
